Empowering Creative Women

If you are who you were made to be, you will set the world ablaze.
— Catherine of Siena

I'm so glad you're here.

I'm excited to get to know you better, but I guess I'll share a little about me first...

I've been an artist, a writer, and an athlete my entire life. Everything I did was focused on sports and achieving high grades. I used to tell people I could do anything in life except sales, but my best-kept secrets were my stash of poems and the hours I spent writing songs. Honestly, most people probably didn't know I was creative.

While my friends studied fancy subjects and got fancy-sounding jobs after graduating, I surprised everyone by studying design and getting a job as an admissions counselor.

These were the two best decisions I ever made.

My life as an artist, designer, and writer was expanded, supported, and nurtured in college more than I ever thought possible.

Working in admissions for a private university taught me:

  • communication
  • team work
  • self-motivation
  • goal setting
  • project management
  • managing people
  • conflict resolution
  • professionalism
  • sales
  • marketing
  • strategy
  • advertising
  • public relations
  • negotiation
  • public speaking

Eventually I finished my MBA and became an assistant director of admissions and a director of marketing & communications.

This is where I learned:

  • fund raising
  • managing budgets
  • navigating/designing organizational culture
  • non-profits
  • more about managing people
  • building relationships
  • networking
  • strategic planning
  • leadership

(There aren't enough bullet points in the world to share what I've now learned from entrepreneurship. You can go check out my articles for that. ;)

My former supervisors and coworkers are incredible people, and they helped me become the person I am today. I'd even argue they helped me become the person I'm made to be.

For that, I am forever grateful.

Now I pay it forward by helping other people and organizations thrive by becoming more of who they were made to be. I focus my design business on marketing and communications strategy, and I help other creatives master business, marketing, sales, and productivity.

You can learn more about what I do here.

Now I'd love to learn more about you! What brought you here? How can I help you?

Let me know.
